Tamodi Lodge & Stables in Plettenberg Bay
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Tamodi Lodge and Stables was created by Lynne and Owen Johnston, their inspiration born out of love for horses and the beautiful valleys of the Crags. This passion is reflected in the carefully designed main house and stable buildings which blend with the bush and natural environment. The setting is peaceful and relaxing, offering 3 honeymoon suites. The property forms part of a natural conservancy area and is also a working equestrian farm with riding school. There are unfenced dams and an rimflow pool, so please take care. There is a hiking trial and mountain biking close by with Keurbooms beaches only 3 min away. It is an ideal venue to be away from the hive of activity in Plett but close enough to enjoy when you feel the need. ACCOMMODATION 2 standard suites are luxuriously appointed with underfloor heating, heated towel rail, safe, DSTV, WIFI internet and balcony. The main honeymoon suite is very spaceous, 75m, with walkin cupboard, underfloor heating, heated towel rail, safe, DSTV, DVD, WIFI internet connection, bar fridge, outdoor shower. We do not recommend children under 8 but on application we can make arrangements if the guest takes the whole guest house. RESTAURANTS Tamodi provides a full country breakfast but lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at any of the fine restaurants in Plettenberg Bay, The closest [3min away] is Enrico’s at Keurboomstrand, overlooking the bay, “Bahia Formosa” - beautiful bay as it was originally called by the Portugese in 1577. FACILITIES There is secure parking on site. The farm is 30 ha, with a large portion indigenous forest valley with an adventurous hike [3 hours] to the mouth of the Matjies River [northern boundary of the farm] and Enrico’s restaurant. Here you will find the Matjies River Archaeologiacl Site and the Matjies River Rock Shelter. This was inhabited by middle stone age man [millions of years ago] for over 100 000 years with the Khoisans leaving a legacy of tools and ornaments. The rimflow pool is ideal for cooling off in summer or just relaxing in and enjoying the view. Or relax inside in the library while sipping your afternoon tea. ACTIVITIES NEARBY Plettenberg Bay has much to offer from wild life sanctuaries, hiking, mountain biking [Harkerville forests], whale watching, sea and river kayaking, to golf, restaurants and shopping. Places to visit are: Birds of Eden, Monkeyland, Tenikwa wild life sanctuary [variety of cats], Elephant sanctuary [interact with and ride elephants], Stormsriver, Bungy jumping, Tsitsikamma National Park and the Robberg Peninsula National Park, game parks, Keurbooms river cruises and the many beaches of Plettenberg Bay [Robberg, Central, Keurbooms] For the less active one just needs to amble through Old Nicks village or Piesang Valley African Craft Market or spoil yourself with a massage.
